“Again” is the first single from the forthcoming 2 Inch Tape album, What I Need, slated for a September release.
What I Need will be the Melbourne bands 6th LP since their first release in 2015. Again showcases the maturing sound of the band present throughout the album. For this track guitars are abandoned in favour of a sonic texture woven together with cello, Mellotron strings, Moog synth and an Ondes Musicales, the later a 1920’s electronic French instrument popularised by Johnny Greenwood on Kid A.
Lyrically, front man Simon Rigoni, sings about new life, the glimpse of immortality it offers, the mistakes we can only wish to take back and ultimate forgiveness.
